We built it on ourselves first.
Runook started by building AI systems for our own operations in Hauppauge, NY. We needed to scale without scaling headcount. So we built our own AI pricing engine, document pipeline, and agent fabric. 30-minute manual workflows became 30-second AI workflows. Ten operators became two. We replaced eight internal jobs with AI workflows we built for ourselves.
That's when we realized: every traditional business around us — restaurants in Flushing, CPAs in Manhattan, brokers in NJ — has the same problem and no one to fix it. Big consulting firms cost $500K to start. Off-the-shelf SaaS doesn't fit. Self-teaching ChatGPT takes two years.
